Choosing the Right Hearing Aid
With so many types of hearing aids available today, it can seem confusing to decide which one to choose without the help of the right professional. That’s why at Contentment Hearing Care, we help you through every step of your hearing journey. Our hearing aid specialist, Thomas, will help you choose a hearing aid that will improve your hearing and allow you to reconnect with the people you love.
When recommending hearing aids, we consider three factors: the degree of your hearing loss, your lifestyle, and your budget. Whether your hearing loss is mild or severe is the most crucial factor when choosing the right hearing aid. Different types of hearing aids are better suited for different degrees of hearing loss. If you have severe hearing loss, then you will need a more powerful hearing aid to help you hear and to filter out background noise.
The second factor we consider is your lifestyle and hearing needs. What you want to hear is important, and how active you are. If you need your hearing to talk on the phone, attend meetings, or to socialize with other people on a regular basis, then you will need a higher level of technology in a hearing aid.
The final factor is your budget. Hearing aids are an investment, and devices with higher levels of technology cost more than basic models. We will be sure to keep your budget in mind when recommending hearing aids that will help you with your hearing needs and keep up with your unique lifestyle.

The World's Most Powerful Hearing Aids
Oticon has some of the most technologically advanced hearing aids on the market today. Along with BrainHearing technology and Own Voice Processing, Oticon has recently released three new hearing aids to provide you with a seamless listening experience.
The Oticon Xceed and the Xceed Play are the most powerful hearing aids for adults and children with severe-to-profound hearing loss. They both offer 360° access to speech without the interference of background noise. This allows for a better listening experience as well as improved learning for children. The Xceed and Xceed Play feature groundbreaking technology that reduces feedback, such as static or whistling, so you can hear clearer and with better attention. Adults and children can control these devices straight from their smartphones through an app, creating more control and improved usability. The Xceed for adults comes in a variety of colors to match your skin tone or hair color while the Xceed Play includes bright, fun colors in addition to the neutral tones for younger users.
Oticon CROS hearing aids offer a revolutionary 360° sound experience for those with single-sided deafness. CROS hearing aids include a transmitter with a microphone that wirelessly picks up sound and sends it from your poorer ear to your better ear with a hearing aid. This allows you to easily engage in conversations in different environments. Oticon CROS hearing aids feature OpenSoundNavigator and TwinLink dual-streaming technology so you can hear from all directions. This gives you the freedom to do what you love while enjoying a more natural listening experience.
BrainHearing
Our ears pick up sounds, but we actually hear and understand with our brains. No two people process sound the same way, just like no two people see colors exactly the same way. As we age, we have more difficulty hearing in competitive noise, and this greatly differs from person to person.
The concept of brain hearing approaches each individual differently depending on their needs and wants. Some people need very little assistance from the automatics of hearing aids, and some need a lot. This concept allows us to adjust the amount of automatic assistance for each different person. Getting to know every individual and their lifestyle is the key. This takes time and patience from all parties involved.
We believe this can be done with any product on the market, even with users who bought their hearing aids elsewhere. We are a very different type of hearing aid dispenser than any other you will find in most places in Florida. We’re trying a new and inventive approach to get more people fit for hearing aids in our office. With the amount of managed care hearing companies multiplying rapidly, our industry is changing fast. Big box stores pose a challenge because people have become accustomed to buying everything on sale.
With this in mind, it is important people go to professionals who understand the assistance they will need with their hearing aids. Our goal is to keep our business going by understanding each patient’s individual needs and providing them with the best and most personalized hearing healthcare available.

Hearing Aid Maintenance
Follow-up care is very important for the success of any hearing aid fitting. Generally, there is a lot to learn when you embark on the journey toward better hearing. At Contentment Hearing Care, this is where we shine. We take very special care in understanding each patient’s individual needs and try to determine how much they need to learn and how quickly or slowly we can proceed to teach them. At Contentment Hearing Care, all follow up care, including regular cleanings and check-ups, are included at no charge for life.
At Contentment Hearing Care, we sell, service, and repair all makes and models of hearing aids and hearing health products. Any product can break down. We are available to help prevent breakdown the best we can and to get it repaired quickly if it does. We offer all manufacturer repair services and even independent repair lab service, and some repairs can even be done in-office, saving you money.
Hearing Aid Batteries
Hearing aid batteries are a very special breed of battery. All hearing aid batteries today are made with zinc and are activated by air. This will ensure they will have full power throughout their entire life. You cannot afford to have the battery fade like a flashlight battery will do. Some hearing aids offer a rechargeable battery option. Rechargeable batteries in your hearing aids are a nice convenience for many people.
There can be several reasons why a hearing aid will stop working. Usually, the best thing to do as soon as you have a question or problem is to call us at 321-269-5552. Oftentimes, we can solve the problem over the phone or with a quick visit to our office.
